Mmm...Tea and Tarts

Ok, so I am sure if you have read my blog you are likely sick of hearing how awesome my hubby is, but hey, he is! We needed a few other things from the store last night, so of course we HAD to go back to Wegmans…hehe, well I been searching for a particular glass teapot for brewing blooming teas. They are not only delicious, but beautiful to look at as well.

So brewing them in my normal tea pot stunk. Well, Wegmans had the pot I wanted, it was a cute little gift set, a 16oz Teapot with 2 adorable 3oz cups, with saucers, and 6 blooming teas (each can be used about 4-5 times). So of course the first thing I did this morning at work was go to the break room and boil some water to make some tea. This is the one I brewed this morning, it was so pretty, and yummy.

So not only did he buy me the perfect tea set that I have been so badly wanting he decides wants to buy one of the insanely good tarts, as a treat. He even packed me lunch last night and put some tart in my bag for me. Boy do I have a keeper.

I told him he needs to find my sweatpants for me so I can get my butt in the gym after the tart. I been wanting to get back to working out but can’t find my work out pants, it’s like I hid them subconsciously so I can’t work out…lol. I do miss the yoga classes however, and I really do want to lose some more weight, so maybe tonight I will go on a conscious hunt for my sweatpants.

Wegmans Wonderland

So who would think it was worth writing a blog about a grocery store. We just got a Wegmans. Now if you haven’t had the chance to visit a Wegmans boy, do you need one in your town. For any foodie in a place where being a foodie is difficult, this place is a very welcome new comer. It’s like food shopping in NYC for the local town. On the selves you will find store band food that is of exceptional quality, to the rare luxurious items like black truffle. A loose tea corner, a sushi bar, more prepared foods that you can imagine in a grocery store and even a cheese shop with olive bar, flower shop and some pastries to die for. They even offer samples galore to lore you into buying plenty of their awesome selections. I love parmesan regiano but never had it with honey, trying the small bite they offered with honey wanted to make me buy more then the few pounds I already had at home. We had a fun time. It took us over 2 hours to canvas the whole store. We got a cart full of food for about $160, and it’s about 2 weeks of food. So look up your local wegmans and check them out. Way worth the visit.

iPod

So I decided I wanted a new iPod, so why not go big. I got some gift cards from work and needed to use them on something at BestBuy so why not the iPod I been wanting. Well a few weeks back and I buy a nice 80G Video iPod. Well wasn't I lucky, just a week or two after I purchase it, play with it, and decide I love it, Apple decides to revise it for the Holiday season, they lower the price of the 80G version by 100$ and offer a new 160G version at the same price. So I check and I can return the one I got and get the new 160G, SWEET! So I returned the old one and got a store credit until the new ones where in stock, The new 160's are a tiny bit bigger then the old version so there aren't any cases for them yet, but my "old" one came with a little case, the new one should too right? So I get to the store and get my new 160G iPod ! Yay! Get home and open it up and no case, mmm, how the heck and I going to be able to use it and not scratch the heck out of it? So I look online and find the "iPod Sock" or sometimes called the "iSock". LOL Its the only thing on the market right now that I would use, and fits, but holy cow 30$ no way. So I am like alright, I am going to look for iSock patterns and sure enough I find a simple enough pattern, so I got the idea, I got some spare yarn, did a quick gague swatch and in less then an hour. I had my own temporary iSock...LOL Now it doesn't look as nice as the cute little Apple one, not does it have the little adorable Apple tag, however it's thick and bulk to it can act as a little padding in case of a small drop, and I made it in less then an hour so I at least had something to put the darn thing in. I didn't want to be afraid to use it and scratch it up, but over all I do think I am going to pick up a little more yarn, something nice, thin and soft and made something more similar to the real thing. I just felt really dorky and old knitting my self up an iSock in an hour just because I needed one. Am I the true Grandma of the future? Oh yes, I think so.
Ha Ha Ha...

More knitting...

So a few months back I decided to try and knit a purse. It turned out fairly well. I used this pattern. I made mine in a flat color. I wasn't ready for working in the design just yet. I also used a little larger of a needle then I should have for the felting but it turned out nice I think. I gave it to my Mom for mother's day. She loves purple.

Some recent knitting projects

I made my first cable. I was just practicing, but I think it turned out well. Take a peak...
I also finished a cowl for my mother-in-law. Very easy to make. What do you think?
