Elf bootie....

So I had never done a gusset heel before and

started making Jeremy a sock with one, so before I got to that I wanted to practice it so, I found a child pattern that had one, I also had a pattern for an elf toe on a sock or bootie so figured if I was doing a practice piece I might as well try it out too. This was the end product.. it is too cute. I am going to try and felt it later today to see how it looks felted up too.

Update,. got it felted, it's so darn cute. Not sure if I will make a 2nd or just turn this one into a Christmas ornament or something....hehe

He has come so far in such little time...

Jeremy was looking for something and came across this picture. It was the first picture the hospital took of Nicolas in the NICU after he was born and rushed away. It was the first thing I seen of my baby after I got to hold him a quick second and he was rushed away to get help breathing. He didn't breath on his own for 3 days. He spent a total of 19 days in the NICU before he was able to come home to us. Looking at this now just reminds me of how far he has come in such a little time, and makes me truly appreciate having him here with us now. He truly is a miracle.

Wash Cloth

Found a cute little pattern for a winter wash cloth, not sure you can see the pattern very well in the picture, but the texture is nice. The pink yarn was some spare yarn given to me because it was cotton and a little hard to work, but once you got past the cast on and 1st row it wasn't that bad. Good fiber for a wash cloth however. Knitted up in a day, so would make great Holiday gifts. The pattern called for Peaches and Cream cotton which you can buy anywhere in huge spools. So you can make a whole set in a week or so. I don't have the pattern in soft copy but I can scan it if anyone wants it. While I was making it I though if you keep repeating over and over it would make a cute winter scarf as well, or heck make a bunch and seam them together for a blanket.

More socks...

Mommy made me some sock!
I finally found something I can make in a few hours. Toddler socks. The paid only took me a few hours and to be honest he loves them. He has been wearing them for the last 2 days and doesn't want to take them off. He actually brought them over to me this morning and sat down so I could put them on him. It was very cute. I think if I use this pattern again i won't do quite so many decreases, it came to much to much of a point, but they are cute never the less. The yarn was from the Yarn shop in Carlisle, it's a wool sock blend. I have some left over I may try and matching pair for myself soon. Socks seem to be very addicting...Here is a close up of the socks.
